Lucky?
“Didi” He tapped on my leg and looked at me with puppy wide eyes. Can anything in the world be more lovable and more innocent than that look of a second? I tousled the unkempt curls and gave him the Snickers that I had reserved for my irritable day. He took the chocolate from my hand and happily trotted away. He had a double hair swirl at the crown of his head. I was reminded of a distant conversation when my younger brother was born. "He has got double swirl. He will turn out to be a very lucky boy.” I looked again at the frail figure trotting away from my sight. Is he lucky already? If not, I hope he too gets very lucky in life. Lucky enough to break out of the chains and shambles of disadvantages that fate threw on him from the day he was born. Lucky enough to be successful, according to whatever definitions he sets for success, not according to the definitions set by the world around him. "He will", I thought to myself.
